Ribs - External Structure that protects internal structures like lungs
Intercostal Muscle - Muscles between ribs → Control movement based on inhalation and exhalation
Diaphragm - Sheet of connective tissue and muscle at bottom of the thorax allowing for change in volume during in/exhalation
Trachea - Windpipe connecting mouth and nose to lung - Rings of cartilage support airways and keep them open due to pressure changes
Larynx - Voice box → Produces sound when air passes through
Bronchi - Tubes branching from trachea, one bronchus for each lung
Bronchioles - Smaller tubes splitting from bronchus connected to alveoli
Alveoli - Air sacs where gas exchange takes place
