1.1, 1.2, 1.3 - Numbers and units

Untitled

Physical Quantity = A complete measurement with a number and a unit

SI units = Basic units for measuring mass, time and length [Kg, s, m]

All other units are formed using this [Speed, force, energy etc.]

SI Unit Advantage - Common system = Less confusion, Better communication

Mass - Amount of substance in an object

  1. The greater the mass, the stronger earth’s gravitational pull on it is
  2. The greater the mass, the greater the resistance to change in motion

How To Measure :

VERY OBVIOUS NO NEED TO STUDY

Measurement - Zero Error = Corrected Measurement

Zero Error = Type of error in which an instrument gives a reading when the true reading at that time is zero

1.4 - Volume and Density

SI unit - m^3

1 L = 0.001 m^3

1 L = 1000 cm^3

1 mL= 1 cm^3
